1. Vacuum on a regular basis.
The majority of all soils that enter the house are what is known as dry soils. Vacuuming can help remove these dry soils before they become embedded within the carpet and create more damage.
2. Never rub or scrub a stain.
This could make the stain worse. Rubbing or scrubbing a stain could make the stain perminat at the same time weakening and damaging the carpet fiber.
3. In a high- traffic lane/pattern use a carpet runner or area rug to help prolong the carpets life.
Carpet runners or area rugs are can be inexpensive and easily replaced. This will save you money and a headache from replacing a section or the entire carpet.
